About POLYREC

Our research hub focuses on innovation and optimisation of processes designed to enhance the recovery and reuse of polymer materials.
Thanks to our equipments and scientific environment, we can support you in your projects to find solutions tailored to your specific challenges.

We have an infrastructure that includes equipment for recycling, processing and characterising polymers and its recovered products.
This synergy enables us to carry out end-to-end projects: from the recycling of polymers to their recovery in the form of plastic pellets or finished products, whilst validating the performance obtained using appropriate characterisation methods.

Most of the technologies we use for recycling have already been validated and/or implemented on an industrial scale. Our aim is to identify the most suitable parameters for each project, in order to improve the efficiency of the processes and the quality of the materials processed.

Are you interested?
We offer a range of project options that can be tailored to your needs:

  • Internship and student project (1 to 6 months)

  • Professional training contract, work-study scheme

  • CIFRE/industrial thesis, academic thesis, ANR thesis, etc.

  • Collaborative project in response to project calls

  • Industrial research project
  • And others…

Our expertise covers a wide range of processes:

  • Chemical/tertiary recycling (catalytic pyrolysis, biological depolymerisation, solvolysis, devulcanisation, etc.)

  • Secondary recycling processes (decontamination by irradiation, decontamination by extraction, specific extrusion, etc.)

  • Mechanical upcycling by adding compatibilisers

  • Recovery of extracted substances of interest (focus on bromine, metals, liquid crystals)

  • Co-generation of energy from biomass and plastic waste
